Student visas can either be short-stay (program length <90 days) or long-stay (program length >90 days). Whether you are to pursue a language program, a culinary workshop, an exchange semester, or a 2-year master's program, the duration of your study program dictates the type of visa you'll need.

The first step to being eligible for a student visa is to gain admission into your desired study program. The student visa procedure is distinct from the application to the study program itself.
You must obtain proof of your successful application. This document will be required in the compilation of your student visa file, and could be in the form of:
- A confirmation email
- A formal admission or enrolment certificate
- A student ID

Once you've obtained your proof of admission, you may begin the application procedure by filling out the online form on France-Visas, the official platform for all French visa requests. France-Visas allows applicants to consult the list of required documents, submit an online application, and follow up on the status of filed applications.
Note: The Philippines isn't covered by the Études en France (EEF) procedure; the EEF number field on the online form may be left blank.
After submitting an online application via the consulate in the Philippines, you will be redirected to the TLS Contact website, where you will be prompted to schedule an appointment to drop off your physical documents. TLS Contact is the only official service provider of the Embassy of France in the Philippines with collection centers in Cebu and in Manila.

Long-stay visa (>90 days) applicants must undergo an online pre-consular interview conducted by the Embassy in France's cultural department. With all your requirements out of the way, it's time to drop off your document requirements at your nearest TLS Contact center! Upon receiving your file, the French Embassy's consulate will take around 3-4 working weeks to process it (excluding high-traffic periods).
