This step is only for those with a long-stay student visa marked as "Visa long séjour valant titre de séjour (VLS-TS)"
Last update: 9 June 2021
remember this?
At the beginning of your stay, upon your arrival in France, you had to validate your long-stay student visa.
Now, what should you do?
Your first year in France is coming to an end, which means that your initial VLS-TS is about to expire and your academic program is still ongoing
You must apply for a titre de séjour pluriannuelle (multi-year residence permit) which should be valid until the end of your degree.
- ex: Master’s degrees longer than one year, Licence/Undergraduate programs and PhDs that usually are over three years
Starting on 1 May 2021, the applications for the renewal of residence permits in France must be done three months before your current (valid) permit expires.
This procedure is done online through the website of the Ministère de l'Intérieur - Directorate general for foreign nationals in France ➜ https://administration-etrangers-en-france.interieur.gouv.fr/particuliers/#/
Don't wait until the last minute to do this!
Online applications that are submitted after the three-month timeframe will still be accepted until six months after the validity (of the initial VLS-TS), but you will have to pay a fine.
If you still have not done the application after the aforementioned six-month deadline, you can no longer do the application online. You must return to the Philippines to apply for a new long-stay student visa.
