required internships (stages obligatoires)
Some degree programs integrate an internship period (usually 3-6 months) within your academic program to complement your lectures and classroom work
This requires a convention de stage (internship contract) signed by you, your French higher education institution, and the company (or whichever institution is hosting your internship)
Internships in France that are longer than 2 months are by law required to be paid (the legal minimum is €577.50/month, as of January 2018)
