French law authorizes international students in France to work (limited to 964 hours/year, around 20 hours/week) to supplement their finances while studying.

To be able to work during your studies, your long-stay visa should have the followIng remarks (found at the bottom part):

    required internships (stages obligatoires)

    Some degree programs integrate an internship period (usually 3-6 months) within your academic program to complement your lectures and classroom work

     

     

    This requires a convention de stage (internship contract) signed by you, your French higher education institution, and the company (or whichever institution is hosting your internship)

    Internships in France that are longer than 2 months are by law required to be paid (the legal minimum is €577.50/month, as of January 2018)
