General information on finalizing your enrolment/registration at your French higher education institution upon arrival
Administrative (inscription administrative)
- The schedule is set by your HEI (usually before classes start)
- Some institutions host a welcome week for students, where the registration is part of many activities (campus tours, presentations, student services, etc)
- You will be asked to present certain documents (ex, proof of CVEC fee payment ) and settle remaining tuition fees
- When completed, you will receive a proof of completed enrolment (certificat de scolarité) and your student ID (carte d’étudiant)

Note: You will need the certificat de scolarité to apply online for French social security

Academic (inscription pédagogique)
- This is when you will be able to select your classes and instructors (enlistment))
- You will arrange your schedule for the term or semester
- This procedure can be sometimes done online (depending on the institution)
