France joins the 2019 European Higher Education Fair
In line with initiatives to encourage more Filipinos to pursue their studies in France, the Embassy of France to the Philippines and the Campus France Manila office are pleased to invite the public to the European Higher Education Fair (EHEF Philippines) on Saturday, October 26, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Grand Atrium of the Shangri-la Plaza in Mandaluyong City.
For the first time, there will also be an EHEF 2019 roadshow on Monday, October 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Lyceum of the Philippines Cavite campus.
Organized by the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines, together with EU member-states’ embassies and cultural institutes. This year’s theme, EUr Journey to Excellence, highlights the European Union as an ideal destination for quality higher education opportunities.
Five participating French higher education institutions represent various academic disciplines: business & management (INSEAD and IÉSEG School of Management), engineering (IMT Atlantique, Institut polytechnique UniLaSalle), and politics & international studies (Sciences Po) – all of which reflect the broad academic spectrum that France offers.
A country presentation entitled Étudier en France ! Make France your study abroad destination will also be offered by Campus France to provide an overview on the French higher education system and student life. This aims to help prospective students make a more informed decision about their academic plans.
Why study in France?
France is a country that welcomes students from around the world. Each year, over 300,000 international students choose to study in France. According to UNESCO, it is the fourth largest host country for international students worldwide and the leading non-English speaking destination for inbound student mobility. Located at the crossroads of Europe and renowned for its unique art de vivre, France is a global capital of fine arts, literature, gastronomy, fashion, and culture.
For today’s mobile and globalized youth, including those from the Philippines, France is an attractive destination for studying abroad due to its rich culture and history, as well as the concentration of internationally-ranked institutions with English as the medium of instruction across various disciplines. Moreover, public investments and subsidies allow a more reasonable cost of living for international students compared to other attractive destinations.
The community of French-educated Filipinos continues to grow
It is estimated that over 200 Filipino students currently reside in France, with many of them pursuing degrees in world-renowned institutions of higher learning. Most Filipinos studying in France are part of undergraduate exchange programs between partner institutions or pursue graduate degrees in the fields of business, natural sciences and engineering, political science and law.
Admission to the EHEF is free. The public is encouraged to pre-register through the dedicated event website. For registration and additional information on the participating countries and institutions, visit www.ehefphilippines.com
